The village is located between Port Adriano and Portals Nous, 21 km west of Palma. Sol de Mallorca has 800 inhabitants and has three beautiful bays, also called Three Finger Bay, each with a wide sandy beach. A large part is a nature reserve. Very quiet residential area with private villas in the high segment and flats. There are no hotel complexes, tourism has stayed away from the picturesque place until today.

Sol de Mallorca is also home to a harbour where boats up to 12 meters long can moor. The golf course Golf de Poniente is only 3 km away as well as the famous and exclusive beach club, Nikki Beach, on the sandy beach in the bay of Magalluf. The international school Baleares International College, is also located here.
