"This is a place where you feel at home, where you can enjoy the sun and where you can find peace and wonder."
Hidden in the greenery and surrounded by a beautiful plot of almost 5.500m² lies this stylistically designed exceptional country house with a total floor area of almost 600m².
This beautiful house was designed in 2002 by architect Cees Dam who was inspired by a playful interpretation of the English country house style, with flowing lines and accents that sometimes clearly but generally very subtly reflect the signature of the architect.
The country house was realized in harmony with its surroundings and can rightly be called an ideal family home. In addition to the high level of finishing, the house is characterised by its tranquillity, privacy and its central location a short distance from the schools and the centre of Bilthoven. Lots of space and light, nice living and working with a view of the surrounding woods, a house that is modest at the front and opens up at the back, where the garden turns into the woods and the sun is enjoyed all day long. It is a house that offers intimacy and security.
Spectacular reception hall which separates the house into the two wings from which the villa is constructed and which are arranged in an L-shaped kink to each other. In the left wing is a cozy living room with fireplace and striking large windows with patio doors to the garden and terraces. In addition, there is a separate study.
In the right wing you will find the cozy kitchen with a lovely conservatory and a pantry. Furthermore, there is the dining room - here too, the beautiful surroundings become tangible through the many windows and the storage doors to the terrace. Through the hallway there is finally a second living room or television / playroom accessible with striking high ceilings and therefore very light and spacious. On the ground floor there are two toilets.
The floor consists of a spacious landing from which the master suite is accessible with dressing room, balcony and private bathroom. Furthermore there are four, varying in size, comfortable bedrooms, two with private balconies, two bathrooms and a laundry/ironing room.
Two of the four bedrooms share, in addition to a balcony, also a bathroom and are located in a wing with private entrance and entrance above the garage (also ideal for a resident au-pair or as a guest house).
The ground floor and sleeping floor are connected in various places by the use of voids and vistas, with a lot of transparency and optimal light as a result. Underneath the large indoor garage (with grease pit) there is finally a large cellar of over 40 m² with lots of storage space. The stated usable area is the total living area and the other interior space of the house together.
The lush garden and terraces around the villa are landscaped to a design by the Amsterdam based garden architect Robert Broekema. His vision to create unity with the existing nature and the old trees, has led to a garden that is harmoniously embedded in the surroundings. A romantic footpath meanders through the forest plot behind the villa. The garden is beautifully lit and has an automatic sprinkler system with its own source. Preparations for the construction of an outdoor swimming pool have already been made.
For people from outside Bilthoven we would like to tell something about living in the beautiful villa district Bilthoven Noord and its surroundings. Living in this popular residential area means living in a green and sought-after residential area with beautiful villas on large plots, where the built-up area changes into the extensive nature of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Everything is close by: shops, schools, sports facilities and golf clubs, two railway stations and several highways that open up the whole country.
